For the first time, we were asked to create a blog to update and share about our class lessons and experiences. So here we are as the students from Human Communication SM003 going to update our each lesson session’s experience with its outcomes. Lets know about the this subject in detail.

Today as the class started we were assigned in groups to describe the types of areas in communication with its elements respectively as we have learned these things in the previous lecture class. So, my group buddies and I worked as a team to do the task as we were asked. We found it a little ease of burden as the tasks been divided among us. We also used some references from books and internet to complete this task. After we finished it, we handed it to our lecturer Mr. Anwari. It just took us about 10 to 15 minutes to accomplish the work as we worked in a team. We were managed to find all the five types of communication areas such as Intrapersonal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Small group or Organization Communication, Public Communication and Mass Communication.

As the lecture goes on, we were taught about the feelings that related and have impact on our communication skills and behavior. As an example, the lecturer taught about Pygmalion which is a Greek Mythology. Pygmalion, a famous sculptor who fell in love with a statue he had carved and finally the faith he had in his wishes gave life to the statue. This is a simple example which shows the concept of psychological impact on one’s behavior. This was totally a very new thing which has been introduced to us during the lecture. We also learned about pessimistic and optimistic thinking which shapes and build confident in one-self. Besides that, we able to understand the fact, that all of us should be an optimistic person because it has the potential to bring the best in us as we will begin to see each and every problem from the positive perspective and try to face it but not to run away from it.
Moreover, we also learned about the whole concept of perception. Perception is the ability to see, hear or become aware of something through senses. In other word, it is the way in which something is regarded, understood or interpreted. Perception plays the major role in communication process and it is an important element for a successful communication. A message which has been conveyed from sender need to be perceived correctly by the receiver, so that the purpose of that communication to be accomplished. Then, Mr. Anwari divided us into groups and gave us some activities to convey and perceive few messages. This activity was quite fun by the way.
The lecturer also provided us some examples for a better understanding regarding the concept of perception. Now my group members and I would like to attach some images of perceptual illusion as we found it interesting.
Hey guys, lets try to find objects and images as much as you can in the following pictures.
These are the things we learned in the previous Human Communication class. We gained some knowledge throughout the lecture class.
